Hidden within a remote and beautifully private corner of the Doonwood Estate lies the Mossy Glade which comprises the Haig and Riddle and Bothy cottages. Located directly opposite one another, these two charming cottages offer the perfect "flex-stay" solution: book them individually midweek for a quiet escape, or combine them to create a private mini-village for groups of 10-16 guests.

The heartbeat of the pair, designed with group gatherings in mind. Its interiors are "coastal-cool," featuring a soothing palette of whites and blues, french furniture, grounded by sophisticated splashes of black and gold.

• Dining for the Whole Group: The cottage features an expansive open-plan kitchen and a large lounge with a dining area specially designed to seat the occupants of both cottages.
• Space for Everyone: With 3 bedrooms and 2 modern shower rooms, there is ample space for your entire party.  The bedrooms are superking bed with bunks, zip and link singles with bunks and a small double bedroom. 
• Outdoor Living: Step outside to your private hot tub (June onwards), perfectly positioned for soaking in the silence of the estate’s remote location.

Directly across and steps away sits The Bothy at Doonwood, a romantic and rustic "Shabby Chic" sanctuary. This cottage is the ideal retreat for Mothers of the Bride, VIPs, or couples or those who want to be part of the group celebration but crave a quiet, high-end escape when the party at Mossy Nook steps up a gear.

• Cozy Intimacy: The heart of the cottage is the lounge, featuring a traditional log burner for cozy evenings tucked away from the world.
• Private escape: Despite its proximity to Haig & Riddle, it remains a fully self-contained haven with its own kitchen, shower room, and private hot tub (coming June 2025)
• The Vibe: Decorated with vintage charm and soft textures, it offers a peaceful contrast to the larger social space next door.

By combining these two properties, you secure a private enclave on the estate where your group can drift between the high-energy socialising of Haig & Riddle and the fire-side tranquility of The Bothy. It is the ultimate way to keep everyone together while respecting needs of some for their own front door.

Note that weekend bookings and Christmas and new year automatically default to the combined cottages, the Mossy Glade.  If you wish to stay longer than weekends drop us a line and we'll sort this or you can book the individual cottages separately outside the weekend.
